Tina J. Gordon
I am a writer, a teacher, an artist, a traveler, a cook, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a dreamer, and a friend. I write, I teach, I cook, I share, I entertain. I hold a doctorate from Rutgers University in English. I'd love to hear from you and hope you will leave behind comments. I have published poems and non-fiction, including a piece in the New York Times called "Words: Symbols of Morality." I have attended writing workshops and courses, such as the Advanced Fiction Class at NYU and classes at Gotham Writer's Workshop in New York City. My favorite was a writer's workshop in Tuscany called Il Chiostro where I worked on my novel, GRACE IN MILAN. I pitched this novel at the New York City Pitch and Shop Conference where there was interest from four major editors. Novel publication has, so far, eluded me. In GRACE IN MILAN we meet Grace Danner, the Assistant Director of Design and Marketing for Versace, who's engaged to the desirable Stefano. She's got it all. So why isn't she happy? Grace is reunited with her two best friends from NYU. Can their friendship thrive five years later? Readers will love these delicious characters as they careen through Milan shopping, eating, bickering, drinking wine, and enjoying sexy escapades in this fashion-conscious, historic city. When one of them is struck by tragedy, Grace discovers the true value and meaning of their friendship. TUSCAN SUMMER, my first novel, is set in the medieval city of Siena. The main character, Allegra Mattina, ignores the advice of her friends and family and runs away to Italy for the summer. Despite the painful event that drove her here, Allegra finds joy and a new life waiting just around the corner. Currently, I have completed a screenplay called THE CONTESSA'S VINEYARD. Jewel Harper is spending a month at a retreat in Tuscany with wacky artists and writers. She's trying to write a novel but distractions keep interfering. Wine tastings, wild boar, the Contessa, her new friend's internet affair, and—oh, yes. There's that chef she meets in town...Interested?
